DLD is the oldest and one of the most prestigious colleges in the UK, which, since its foundation in 1931 has built a strong reputation among students, parents, schools and universities.

Course overview
You will be joining students from around the world studying on the established GCSE (14–16 years) and A Level (16–18 years) programs. Your weekly study program will be a combination of academic subjects and English language lessons. Full board accommodation will be included in one of the college boarding houses.

GCSE:
DLD College London offers a one year intensive GCSE program for British and international students (with a minimum IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent) focusing on a selection of traditional subjects that properly equip students for progression to the A Level program.

BTEC:
BTECs are work related qualifications that are an alternative to A-Levels. BTECs provide a more practical, real-world approach to learning alongside a key theoretical background. At DLD, the university offer BTEC qualifications in Business Studies, Music Technology and Digital Media Production.
BTECs offer students a variety of assessment methods which allows them to build on their strengths. Each course provides students with a mix of project based assessments which typically involve employer links, as well as written tests, online assessments and examinations. BTECs have grown in popularity in recent years because they allow students to express their understanding practically, as well as theoretically.
To be eligible to apply for a BTEC course at DLD, students must have at least 5 GCSEs at C (Grade 4) or above including Maths and English.
International students need to have a minimum of 5.5 IELTS equivalent level (with no component less than 5.0) and will need to take Maths GCSE and IELTS alongside the BTEC course.
International Foundation Programs:
International Foundation Programs (IFP) are one-year intensive courses, designed as an alternative to A Levels, which prepare students for undergraduate study.

Entry Requirements:
Normally be aged 17 or over before the 1 September in the year of registration
Have passed GCSE English or have an overall IELTS score of 5.0 (with a minimum of 5.0 in the reading and writing components)
As IELTS* tests cannot be taken in certain parts of the world, language may be accessed through an entrance test
Pre-Sessional Program:
The DLD Academic Preparations Course is a course that prepares a student for a main course of study in the UK. The contents of the academic preparation course are not fixed but will normally include a majority of English Language lessons with some taster classes, study preparation and educational trips.
How is it assessed?
Students have regular tests in the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking) and sit an IELTS exam at the end of the summer term. Progression depends on English scores and previous studies:

The purpose of this course is to equip students with the right skills and knowledge to be successful in their studies at DLD in the sixth form.

Academic Summer:
Academic Summer runs three courses at DLD College London in July and August
Academic Summer – quality GCSE, IB and A-level preparation and revision courses for international and British students aged 12 to 17. Specialty weeks also offered: Medical Studies or IELTS preparation courses.
Academic Juniors – specialist program for young learners aged 7 to 12. Taught by experienced primary school teachers who know how children learn best.
Alpha Scholars Program:
DLD College London is offering a unique program of study that will develop the strengths of the most capable students who are eager to become change-makers and leaders. In addition to dedicated lessons, tailored co-curricular provision will be delivered through academically focused activities that foster independent and collaborative learning, soft skills and higher-order thinking.

The DLD University has launched a new dedicated program for its alumni.
ACCOMMODATION
All students must live in accommodation approved by the College. This may be living in Student Boarding, with a Host Family or living with a Parent or Guardian. A Guardian must be approved and provide evidence that they are allowed to stay in the UK. Students 19 years old may choose to live independently.
